A travel influencer was accused of tone-deafness after saying he is stranded while appearing to refuse to fly economy amid the Middle East crisis.

Aviation enthusiast Daniel Goz, who is known for his travel channel Nonstop Dan, shared a video with over 1 million followers about his journey from Singapore to Europe.

In a video initially titled ‘There Are No Flights Left,’ Goz explained about his attempt to travel on the day when the US-Israel coalition started bombing Iran.

Goz said he was ‘stranded in Asia,’ Daily Mail reports.

However, around halfway through the video, a graphic popped up showing upcoming flights, prompting him to admit ‘there are a few seats on some days in economy.’

Viewers reacted to the video, with many seeming flabbergasted why he wouldn’t ‘just fly economy.’

Users told him to ‘read the room’ while some accused the video of being ‘insensitive.’

One person joked: ‘My thoughts are with the premium passengers and those in danger of flying economy.’

Since the video was posted four days ago, it has attracted over 800 comments.

Goz reportedly shortened the video by more than a minute and changed the title to ‘Millions Of Travelers Are About To Be Stranded’ since the backlash and ridicule.

The 28-year-old, who has amassed a loyal following online for his airline reviews, flying tips and points hacks, posted a comment pinned under the video in response to the criticism.

It says: ‘Lots of you saying “just fly economy!” and I totally get that. The pricing example I show on screen in the video is economy (should’ve been clearer about that), and as you can see there’s barely anything available for the next two weeks.

‘The few remaining economy seats are going for $1500+ per person one-way and even those will be booked up soon. I mentioned premium cabins because that’s what this channel usually covers.

‘The bigger point of this video, that global aviation capacity has been massively disrupted and millions of travelers, families, students, people on work trips, will feel ripple effects, still stands. I hope it’s useful to those of you figuring this out. Stay safe everyone’
