A search has been launched for a British tourist who hasn’t been seen in southern Spain for days.
Iain Stanley, 79, was last seen near the Perla Marina Hotel in Nerja on the eastern end of the Costa del Sol on Wednesday, February 11.
Now his loved ones and the Spanish authorities are combing the area after he was last seen leaving holiday home at the resort.
The last recorded sighting of the pensioner was at about 2pm on Wednesday.
His wife reported him missing on Thursday and the Civil Guard has now launched an investigation to try to establish what happened.
A taxi driver was questioned after saying he believed he gave a lift to a man matching Iain’s description to the nearby town of Torrox. However, the police later determined it was a false lead.
Iain, who is said to be in good health, was wearing black jeans, a shirt and a blue jacket when he was last seen. He was without his mobile phone or his passport.
News of his disappearance is now circulating in several local expat Facebook groups, with relatives also appealing for information on his whereabouts.
