Robert Sanchez was unhappy with Chelsea fans booing at half time in the comeback win against West Ham (Canal+ Sport)
Robert Sanchez hit back at Chelsea supporters who booed the players at Stamford Bridge during the 3-2 comeback win over West Ham on Saturday.
Liam Rosenior’s side were 2-0 down to West Ham by half time following goals from Jarrod Bowen and Crysencio Summerville.
Chelsea fans made their feelings clear following the half-time whistle as boos and jeers could be heard around Stamford Bridge.
However, Chelsea goalkeeper Sanchez took exception to the reaction as he shouted at supporters near the tunnel: ‘Come one, stay calm, we’ve got 45 minutes to go, stay with us.’
Rosenior made three changes at half time with Wesley Fofana, Marc Cucurella and Joao Pedro replacing Benoit Badiashile, Jorrel Hato and Alejandro Garnacho.
Joao Pedro’s header in the 57th minute got Chelsea on their way before Cucurella equalised 13 minutes later. Enzo Fernandez then scored the winner in injury time to make it three consecutive Premier League wins for Rosenior’s side.

When asked about the negative reaction from Chelsea fans at half time, Rosenior said: ‘I have to say the fans were magnificent in the second half. I could sense after two minutes of the second half they were with us.

‘They were right to boo. I would have booed us in the first half. Our performance was nowhere near the level it needed to be collectively in terms of our energy and our decision-making. That’s fair. So to see them after the game, 45 minutes later, so happy and delighted with what they saw from the team makes me very proud.
‘I said to the players at half time, we can make what probably is the worst feeling of the season the best feeling of the season. And I think they went out and performed magnificently in the second half.
‘Look, this is a club with huge demands. The fans pay fortunes to watch us play. They demand the minimum that we win duels. We’ve run for each other and I felt in the first half that wasn’t there.
‘But I have to say, I have to give credit to the team, the subs who came on. Enzo Fernandez was magnificent for 95 minutes. And we showed in the end what the fans demand in terms of what we give to this club.’
