Miami saw a 13-point fourth-quarter lead shrink to three in the final minute before holding off the Bulls for a 116-113 road win on Thursday night in the makeup of a game that was postponed on Jan. 8 due to condensation on the United Center floor. Norman Powell scored 21 points for the Heat while Bam Adebayo added 20 points and 12 rebounds. Reserve Jaime Jaquez Jr. chipped in with 19 points, 10 rebounds, six assists, and three steals, and Dru Smith posted 11 points and three thefts.
Ayo Dosunmu paced the Bulls with 23 points off the bench, with Matas Buzelis scoring 16 points and Nikola Vučević finishing with 15 points and 10 rebounds. Kevin Huerter notched 15 points and 10 boards, with Coby White closing the night with 14 points and eight assists.
The Heat can clinch the season series with a win on Saturday after two wins in Chicago. Besides Thursday’s outcome, Miami also took a 143-107 road win on Nov. 21. Powell leads Miami with an average of 23.0 points, with Adebato getting 18.0 points and 9.8 rebounds per game, and Jaquez putting up 15.3 points and 4.7 assists a night. White scores an average of 18.6 points, Josh Giddey, listed as day-to-day, posts 18.6 points and 8.8 assists per game, and Vučević nets 17.0 points and 9.1 rebounds an outing.
