Snaking into Siege (Konami)
Ubisoft has revealed Solid Snake is heading to Rainbow Six Siege as an operator, as Konami’s resurgence continues to gather pace.
Rainbow Six Siege has seen various crossovers over the years, between Attack On Titan cosmetics and an operator based on Splinter Cell’s Sam Fisher, but the latest is the most notable yet.
As announced in a trailer, Solid Snake from Konami’s Metal Gear series is set to land in Ubisoft’s shooter as part of its Year 11 roadmap. The trailer shows Sam Fisher in a Metal Gear-style codec call, before showing a glimpse of Solid Snake surrounded by billowing red smoke.
A full reveal for the Solid Snake operator, and the Year 11 roadmap at large, is set to take place on February 15 at 4pm GMT. This coincides with the grand final of the 2026 Six Invitational tournament in Paris.
This isn’t the first time Solid Snake has cropped up in other games. He famously appeared in Super Smash Bros. Brawl (and later Super Smash Bros. Ultimate) as a fighter, and he was also a skin cosmetic in Fortnite. On the Konami front, he also appeared as a character in New International Track & Field on the Nintendo DS and Super Bomberman R.
The news comes after Konami announced it had revised its revenue earnings forecast upwards by 8.8% for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2026, citing stronger-than-expected results in its digital entertainment division.

According to the company, this alteration is driven by the strong performance of core titles, including eFootball.
As of December 2025, the Metal Gear series has surpassed 65.5 million sales worldwide. In comparison, the Silent Hill series has hit 14 million sales, so considering how many new Silent Hill projects are coming, it’s likely Konami is planning more Metal Gear remakes, or new titles, in the future too.

While there aren’t any recent sales figures for Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, the last game in the series, it did surpass one million units within 24 hours. Konami even released a survey asking fans what remake they’d like to see next, so they’re clearly thinking about it.
Another potential remake aside, we know Konami is working on Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 2, which is expected to include ports of Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker and Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns Of The Patriots.
A big question is whether these strong sales might encourage Konami to finally do something notable with its other franchises (wink wink nudge nudge, Castlevania).
What’s the future for Snake? (Konami)
