Dawn Taylor (Olivia Bromley) put her foot down in tonight’s Emmerdale as she tried to sort two bickering residents out and for once, they weren’t her children.

This week, Graham Foster (Andrew Scarborough) returned to the village. He initially planned on just seeing Rhona Goskirk (Zoe Henry), but then headed to Home Farm to announce his resurrection to Kim and Joe Tate (Claire King and Ned Porteous).

Joe was incredibly emotional in the aftermath, as he expressed his hurt towards Graham for pretending to be dead for six years. He told his father figure what happened when he learnt of his apparent murder, and how the grief eventually saw him become dependent on drugs.

Graham tried to tell Joe how sorry he was, but his words didn’t make up for everything he put Joe through. To try and prove to Graham that he didn’t want him in his life, Joe called the police on him.

Because Graham didn’t technically commit a crime by pretending to be dead, and the fact he has people on the inside helping him at all times, he was let go. He headed back to the village, but concluded in a chat with Rhona that it would be best if he didn’t stick around.

As this was happening, Joe was talking to Dawn about Graham’s return, and what the man means to him. Dawn told Joe to give him another chance, and he did.

Joe opened up to Graham in tonight’s episode and revealed more about his relationship with Dawn, and they were both as surprised as each other when Joe called Dawn ‘the one’.

Impressed, happy and proud all at once, Graham smiled as he looked at Joe and recognised the journey he’s been on over the last couple of years.

While Joe was slowly getting used to the idea of having Graham back, Kim remained certain he didn’t belong in the village, let alone at Home Farm.

Unfortunately though, she didn’t have the final say – for once.

After chatting to Graham, Dawn witnessed him taking pleasure in winding Kim up. She told Graham to stop, and then boldly explained to Kim that she could be the bigger person and let Graham stay, for Joe’s sake.

‘It was amazing that it kept quiet’, star Andrew Scarborough said, discussing his return to the show.

‘I thought it was going to spill, as I was filming for two months before I was seen on screen in Corriedale and I had known I was coming back for a further 4 months before that as well. So I have had 6 months of secrecy.’

‘In all documentation and scripts I was called Bruce. It was rather funny as when Laura Shaw, the producer, called me to tell me I was being given a code name, I felt very flattered because she said, “we’ve got a code name for Graham. It is Bruce Wayne”.
