Previous Page Next PageThe Traitors is one of those shows that can leave you shouting from your sofa as the players make mistakes that look glaringly obvious to the comfortably seated viewer.
And this star from the BBC show is no different to the rest of us.
As the game progressed, and the Traitors were avoiding banishment, this Faithful was getting more and more annoyed at their former self.
They admitted they found it frustrating to watch, and ending up ‘screaming at the TV’.
Jade, 25, had her suspicions throughout the game, but it was mostly aimed at the wrong people.
She spoke to Metro about what it was like to watch herself back: ‘I was literally screaming at the TV, like: “You need to find some capacity to find a Traitor. Get it together.”

‘It was so infuriating to watch. I totally get it, because I just kept getting it wrong.’

Despite denying it in the castle, Jade revealed her approach was a bit tit for tat: ‘I was like: “Well, you’re going for me, so I’m going to go for you.”‘
She went on: ‘That was my whole strategy.
‘I had to take advantage because I knew I was being set up.’
Jade made it all the way to the final, but there were some emotional moments along the way.

At a dinner party, organised by host Claudia Winkleman, the Faithfuls and Traitors told each other what the money would mean to them should they win, and Jade said she’d love to buy her own place.
Upon explaining why it was so important to her, Jade recounted that after her parents divorced her Mum moved back to Hong Kong and had a child.
She then revealed: ‘In 2018, they were both found dead.’
The 25-year-old continued: ‘I’ve had to really rebuild myself from that point onwards.
‘So I’m really proud of myself for getting here, and getting this far.’
Metro asked Jade how it felt to share such a personal story.

‘It was just something that I felt comfortable doing at the time, it felt right right.’
She said it actually felt ’empowering’, but reflected that it’s one thing telling a small group, and another thing for it to then be televised.
‘But the outpouring of support that I had from people being like: “I’ve lost my parents as well from a young age.”
‘And they were like like: “It’s so inspiring to see you open up and talk about something that’s not often talked about.”
‘I’m so happy that people can find a part of themselves represented.’
On feeling inspired, Jade had a few role models inside the castle herself.

‘There were such strong female icons [in the game].
‘I was looking at Rachel, I was looking at Harriet, I saw Amanda, and I was like: “I really just want to be like you one day” and they just set such a good example for themselves.
This season has seen explosive scenes from the women in the group, with Fiona calling out Rachel in a Traitor-on-Traitor public battle, and Harriet shouting at Roxy, for which she has now apologised.

Some called their behaviour rude and ill-tempered and Rachel was branded cut-throat for her gameplay.
It begs the question: Are we more shocked to see ruthless behaviour coming from women?
But Jade called the ladies of the castle ‘intelligent and beautiful’, going as far as to say: ‘You can do nothing but try and emulate that.’

When questioned on whether she felt like this season had been nastier than previous ones, Jade declared: ‘I don’t think it’s nasty is the right word for it.
‘I think dramatic [is more suited].’
