Roger Waters has defended his comments about Ozzy Osbourne after being blasted by the late singer’s family.
After the Black Sabbath legend’s death last year, Waters, 82, posted a video complaining about ‘his idiocy and nonsense’, which received backlash.
The former Pink Floyd musician was branded a ‘sad, irrelevant, old, miserable human being’ by Sharon Osbourne on the family’s podcast.
He’s now stood by the comments while speaking on Piers Morgan’s show but said he is open to a chat with Jack Osbourne, who called him ‘pathetic’.
When Piers began to question him over the comments, saying Osbourne was a ‘dear friend’, Roger told the presenter to ‘shut up’.
‘Those comments, I’m not denying that I said them, came in the middle of a long interview,’ the musician said. ‘Do I have to like every rock group that ever was or people who bite the heads off bats?’

Roger admitted he had ‘no idea’ that the former X Factor judge would be watching a podcast, adding he doesn’t ‘have any time’ for her and calling her a ‘raging Zionist’.
On the podcast, Sharon called him ‘sick in the head’ and ‘irrelevant in today’s world’, ultimately calling him a ‘fascist’.
He has refuted claims that he is an antisemite after dressing in a uniform that was described as a Nazi SS officer while on stage in Berlin three years ago.
Sharon added: ‘I don’t know how those guys in Pink Floyd put up with him as long as they did. … David [Gilmour] is the most gracious, warm person you could ever meet.’
When Osbourne died at the age of 76 on July 22, 2025, the music industry came together to celebrate how influential the metal icon was.

His health issues were well documented, particularly those limiting his mobility, as his public appearances have mainly been in a chair or with walking support in recent years.
The Crazy Train hitmaker died of a heart attack, and he had coronary artery disease in addition to suffering from Parkinson’s disease for several years.
At the time, Roger said: ‘Ozzy Osbourne, who just died, bless him in his whatever state that he was in his whole life, we’ll never know.
‘Although he was all over the TV for hundreds of years, with his idiocy and nonsense. The music, I have no idea. I couldn’t give a f**k.
‘I don’t care about Black Sabbath, I never did. I have no interest in biting the heads of chickens or whatever they do. I couldn’t care less, you know.’
Despite their conflict, Roger softened slightly regarding Jack, who often spoke about the loss of his dad while on I’m A Celebrity.

‘Listen, Jack… if he wants to have a chat, I’ll have a chat with him,’ he said. ‘And I won’t be nasty to him.’
While in the jungle, Jack broke down in tears over his dad’s death, which occurred weeks after his farewell gig with Black Sabbath.

Speaking to Emmerdale actress Lisa Riley around the fire on the first full day in camp, Jack said of his death: ‘It was definitely a shock.
‘I mean, we knew he was sick for a while, but it was definitely a shock. I mean, we didn’t know it would be that quick…’
Jack continued: ‘It was the ultimate mic drop; he did a massive big gig and was like, alright, I’m done.’
